    Im Jahr 1921 wurde der 8. März zum „Internationalen Frauentag" erklärt, es soll ein Gedenktag für die Rechte der Frau sein. Der Islam gab den Frauen Rechte, die im Westen teilweise erst 1400 Jahre später verwirklicht wurden. Ein Beispiel: Den Frauen wurde im Islam von Anfang an gestattet, ihren eigenen Besitz zu haben und zu verwalten. In der BR Deutschland darf eine Frau erst seit dem Jahr 1957 ein eigenes Konto eröffnen. Der Text auf dem Bild erinnert daran, dass die Frauen in Saudi-Arabien kein Auto fahren dürfen: "Die Frau des Propheten ritt ein Kamel in dem Land, wo die Frauen heutzutage keine Autos fahren dürfen. Verwechsle die Saudische Kultur nicht mit der Tradition des Propheten." In der Tat muss man im Hinblick auf viele arabische Länder Tradition und Religion unterscheiden: Den Frauen werden Rechte verweigert, was nicht wirklich religiös legitimiert werden kann, das Autofahren ist dafür nur ein Beispiel.
