Die Staatsverschuldung in der Türkei ist in den Jahren 2011 bis Ende 2013 um das tausendfache gestiegen.
Wie kommt es zu so einer enormen Staatsverschuldung?
- Viele Investitionen sind seit 2011 bis heute in die Immobilienbranche gewechselt
- staatliche Bauprojekte, die durch ausländische Kredite gestützt sind
- Privathaushalte die ebenfalls verschuldet sind, aufgrund dessen, dass sich mit dem Erwerb der Immobilie die Gefahr der platzenden Immobilienblase negativ auf sie auswirkt, wie auch in den USA oder in Spanien.
Was Erdogan weiterhin verschweigt, ist die massive Verschuldung im In- und Ausland, jedoch sind diese Daten beim türkischen Statistikamt für jeden einsehbar. Zwischen den Jahren 2002 und 2013 sind die Staatsschulden im Inland von 275,1 auf 609,5 Milliarden Dollar gestiegen und im Ausland von 129,6 auf 372,5 Milliarden Dollar.
Die Privaten Haushalte leiden aufgrund ihrer hohen Verschuldung, ihr Geld die Lira ist weniger wert, wiederum die Importe werden immer teurer, da sie als Dollarwert eingeführt werden, somit werden die Lasten für die privaten Haushalte immer stärker, die bisher den Wirtschaftsboom per Kreditnahme angekurbelt haben. Die sich zuspitzende wirtschaftliche Lage in der Türkei trifft die Bevölkerung gleich zweifach hart. Während die Preise für importierte Waren durch den konstanten Wertverlust der Währung Lira teurer werden (heute: 2,26 Lira = 1 $; im Vergleich zu vor einem Jahr: 1,68 Lira = 1$), treibt die Leitzinserhöhung (von 4,5 % auf 10 %) der Zentralbank die Zinsen für Immobilien-, Kfz- und Verbraucherkredite in die Höhe. Daher befürchten Wirtschaftsexperten einen Einbruch des türkischen Konsumbooms.
Die neoliberale Politik Erdogans, wobei neoliberal meint, dass nur die Unternehmerseite der Wirtschaft durch AKP gefördert wird, also eine sogenannte angebotsorientierte Wirtschaftspolitik, wobei Punkte wie Arbeitssicherheit, Umweltschutz oder auch Lohngerechtigkeit hier eine zweitrangige Rolle spielen. Diese neoliberale Politik steht nun durch das Unglück in Soma in Frage. Raffgier führte zu Vernachlässigung von Sicherheitsstandards, wofür Erdogans Partei haftbar gemacht werden dürfte, da sie die Überprüfung der Sicherheitsstandards abgelehnt hatte.
Der Aufstieg der Türkei, welche faktisch auf Pump finanziert wurde, war Folge der ultralaxen Politik der großen Notenbanken, die Investoren auf der Suche nach Renditen, geradezu in die Schwellenländer trieb. Erdogans "Verdienst" besteht lediglich darin, durch eine neoliberale Wirtschaftspolitik die Bedingungen geschaffen zu haben für das einströmende Kapital, in Folge dessen kommt es nunmehr zu massivem Handelsbilanzdefizit und verschuldeten Konsumenten. Bezeichnenderweise klagen viele der Hinterbliebenen der Opfer in Soma, dass sie hoch verschuldet und daher auf das Einkommen aus dem Bergbaujob angewiesen waren.
Zusätzlich belastet wird die türkische Wirtschaft durch den Korruptionsskandal, dessen Schaden auf rund 100 Milliarden
