Wenn täglich in Syrien zahllose friedliche Zivilisten getötet werden und ihnen jegliche Hilfe verwehrt wird, wollen wir darauf aufmerksam machen und ein Zeichen setzen.
Zehntausende wurden bereits getötet und dennoch schweigt die Welt und der Assad-Clan mordet weiter.
Wenn bekannt ist, dass Gewalt gegen Zivilisten als Waffe eingesetzt wird, dass Menschen brutal getötet, vertrieben oder verletzt werden, wollen wir die Öffentlichkeit über die Verletzung der Menschenrechte und Verstöße gegen das humanitäre Völkerrecht informieren. Auch wenn die Veröffentlichung dieser Verstöße nicht immer Leben rettet, so sind wir doch fest davon überzeugt, dass Schweigen töten kann.
Die syrische Bevölkerung leidet unter Unterdrückung, Folter, Mord und massiver Gewaltanwendung des syrischen Regimes. Täglich sterben viele, friedliche Demonstranten und unschuldige Zivilisten, darunter auch sehr viele Kinder durch das gewalttätige Vorgehen des Assad-Regimes. Die Zahl der Verletzten ist riesig und die medizinische Versorgung ist teilweise zusammengebrochen oder unzureichend. Internationale Hilfe wird vom Regime verhindert.
Weder die UNO noch die Arabische Liga waren bis jetzt in der Lage der syrischen Bevölkerung zu helfen bzw. die Einhaltung der elementarsten Menschenrechte und den Schutz der Bevölkerung zu gewährleisten.
