Wer nun will, der soll glauben, und wer will, der soll ungläubig sein." (Quran 18:29) Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala), Der Allmächtige, hat den Menschen die Freiheit der Wahl gegeben. Unser Herr möchte nicht, dass man die Menschen zum Glauben zwingt: „Und wenn dein Herr wollte, hätte Er die Menschen wahrlich zu einer einzigen Gemeinschaft gemacht. Aber sie bleiben doch uneinig..." (Quran 11:118) „Und wenn dein Herr wollte, würden fürwahr alle auf der Erde zusammen gläubig werden. Willst du etwa die Menschen dazu zwingen, gläubig zu werden?" (Quran 10:99) Dies bedeutet, dass man die Ungläubigen im Diesseits nicht für ihren Unglauben zur Rechenschaft ziehen bzw. bestrafen soll. Das ist eine Angelegenheit Allahs, denn Er ist der Einzige, Der Seine Diener am Jüngsten Tag zur Rechenschaft ziehen wird: „Und wenn sie (doch) mit dir streiten, dann sag: Allah weiß sehr wohl, was ihr tut. Allah wird zwischen euch am Tag der Auferstehung über das richten, worüber ihr uneinig zu sein pflegtet." (Quran 22:68 f.) Ein wahrer Muslim bzw. eine wahre Muslima gehorcht Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala), indem er bzw. sie Seinem Befehl folgt, gerecht zu sein und das beste Verhalten zu zeigen - selbst gegenüber denen, die einer anderen Religion folgen. Er wird es vermeiden, selbst einem Kafir (Ungläubigen) Unrecht anzutun: „Und der Hass, den ihr gegen (bestimmte) Leute hegt, soll euch ja nicht dazu bringen, daß ihr nicht gerecht handelt.
