Die ganzheitliche Annäherung des Islam an das Leben und damit an die Gesundheit bietet uns die Fähigkeit, stark und gesund zu bleiben. Die Gläubigen des Islam müssen auf ihre spirituelle, emotionale und körperliche Gesundheit achten. Unsere Körper, die kompliziertesten Maschinen, sind uns von Allah anvertraut worden. Sie sollten nicht missbraucht oder vernachlässigt, sondern bei gutem Zustand erhalten werden. Wie zuvor, spielt eine gesunde Ernährung eine große Rolle bei der Erhaltung der bestmöglichen Gesundheit, ebenso wie eine Lebensweise mit körperlicher Bewegung. Der Islam legt Nachdruck auf eine einfache Ernährung in Verbindung mit körperlicher Bewegung. Muhammad Sallahu Alayhi wa Sallam riet seinen Anhängern, zu arbeiten, damit sie kräftig sind, und ihren Tag früh zu beginnen, all dies sind Bedingungen für einen gesunden Körper. Er sagte: "Oh Allah, mache die Morgenstunden für meine Nation gesegnet."[Imam Ahmad] Fettleibigkeit oder unangemessene Ernährung, Faulheit und Schwäche sind alles Leiden, für die wir zur Verantwortung gezogen werden. Auch wenn das Vorbeugen einer Krankheit oder Verhindern von Verletzungen häufig nicht in unserer Macht steht, gibt es viele Bedingungen, die durch unsere fehlende Aufmerksamkeit für unsere Ernährung oder unsere Fitness hervorgebracht oder verschlimmert werden. Der Prophet Muhammad Sallahu alayhi wa sallam, sagte: "Jede Tat ohne Gottes zu gedenken, ist entweder eine Ablenkung oder Unachtsamkeit, mit Ausnahme von vier Dingen: das Gehen von Ziel zu Ziel, [bei Schießübungen], das Trainieren eines Pferdes, das Spielen mit seiner Familie und Schwimmen lernen."[At Tabarani] Bewegung und Fitness spielen im Leben eines Muslim eine wesentliche Rolle, allerdings darf dies nicht auf Kosten seiner religiösen Pflichten gehen oder der Zeit beanspruchen, die er seinen Familienmitgliedern widmet. Im Einklang mit der ganzheitlichen Annäherung des Islam an das Leben, das der Islam ist, muss alles in Maßen gemacht werden. Es gibt keine Erlaubnis für extremes oder fanatisches Verhalten. Einen Bewegungsplan oder Sport dein Leben bestimmen zu lassen widerspricht den Lehren des Islam, die zu einem Weg der Mitte aufrufen und zu einer ausgeglichenen Annäherung. Bewegung und Fitness sollten auch kein unnötiges Mischen der Geschlechter beinhalten oder das Tragen von Kleidung, die Teile des Körpers zur Schau stellen, die verborgen sein sollten.
