Ohne die Al-Fatiha ist das rituelle Gebet ungültig.[1] 'Ubada bin As-Samit (ALLAHs Wohlgefallen mit ihm) berichtete, dass der Gesandte ALLAHs (ALLAHs Segen und Frieden mit ihm) sagte: "Kein Gebet für den, der nicht in jeder Rak'a die Fatihat-ul-Kitab (die Erföffnende des Buches) rezitiert!" (Überliefert von Buchari Nr. 756) Aus diesem Hadith leiten die Gelehrten ab, dass das Rezitieren der al-Fatiha zu den wesentlichen Elementen des Gebets gehört und Voraussetzung für seine Gültigkeit ist. Auch daran lässt sich der enorme Stellenwert dieser Sura erkennen.[1] Abu Huraira, ALLAHs Wohlgefallen mit ihm, berichtete, dass der Prophet, ALLAHs Segen und Frieden mit ihm, sagte: "Wer ein Gebet verrichtet und dabei nicht die "Mutter des Quran" rezitiert hat, so ist es gekürzt, unvollständig."
