Scores of militants fled their positions in several areas of Aleppo countryside in Northern Syria. Also in the past 24 hours, the army units made major advances in Homs province in Central Syria and regained control of a strategic military airport in there. The Syrian army took back the T4 military airport from the militants in Homs countryside. The importance of Homs airport is because it is located between Tadmar and Homs cities and it is only 30 km away from Haql al-Shaer oilfield in the province. Meantime, foreign-backed militants suffered heavy losses in Damascus countryside, as the Syrian Army gained ground over the armed groups. The army soldiers stormed the hideouts of the rebels in the barrens of Assal al-Ward in Qalamoun, and killed a large number of them. Also, the Syrian Army continued its fight against foreign-sponsored militants in Damascus, and claimed the lives of more rebels in many surrounding areas of the capital. Meantime, the army troops inflicted massive losses on the insurgents in the towns of Arbin, Zamalka, Jobar, Douma, Harasta, al-Qasmiye, Deir al-Asafir, and Bezzina in the countryside of Damascus, leaving huge numbers of them dead and wounded. Also, the Syrian Army destroyed too many machine-guns belonging to the rebels. Elsewhere, the Syrian Army struck a heavy blow at foreign-backed militants in Idlib and Daraa provinces, killing and injuring scores of them. The militants sustained heavy toll, as the army made major advances in the areas of Filon, Tal al-Laouz, Talab, Taftanaz, Qastoun, Ehsem, and Kafrroma in the Northern province of Idlib. Also, the Syrian Army stormed the gathering centers of the insurgents in Deir al-Adas, Atman, and al-Tibeh in the province of Daraa, killing and injuring too many of them. Meantime, Syrian President's Top Adviser Bouthaina Shaaban deplored the role of the Saudi regime in backing Takfiri terrorists in the region, including the ISIL and Taliban militants. "Takfirist curricula in Saudi schools, the culture of head-chopping criminals in Saudi Arabia, and its support for the Taliban are very similar to the culture of the ISIL," Dr. Shaaban made the remarks in an interview with The Independent. The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control parts of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq. Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country. The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime. Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011 with organized attacks by well-armed gangs and terrorists against both the army and civilians. The unrest, which took in terrorist groups from across Europe, the Middle-East and North Africa, has transpired as one of the bloodiest conflicts in recent history.
